In an effort to make the current programs as well as the new BTPS program more easily accessible, GMC-NLC is exploring the delivery of courses to students through the use of alternate instructional locations and online and/or video mechanisms. Already GMC-NLC courses are being taught at locations in Atlanta, Albuquerque, New Brunswick, New York, and San Diego. To further increase technical capabilities for online and video transmission of courses as well as to increase on campus classroom capacity GMC-NLC has received partial funding from state and federal sources for the construction of the Joseph Lane Kirkland Center for Labor and Economic Advancement. This new facility will be a

state-of the-art building for the delivery of postsecondary education to the mass of working people who are left behind or left out by traditional educational approaches.

The Kirkland Center provides the physical and virtual facility needed for the classes and programs designed to fulfill the GMC-NLC mission. The Bachelor’s of Technical/Professional Studies is the newest program of postsecondary education being offered and promises, in conjunction with new delivery formats and locations, to present even greater opportunities for workers who desire a college degree.
