New Labor-Management Cooperation Grants Available

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) has announced that it is seeking applications for grants from organizations interested in establishing and operating joint labor-management cooperation committees. Applications must be postmarked by Aug. 15. Awards will be made by Sept. 30.

Grants are available for committees at a company, plant, area, government agency, or industry level for three general purposes:

  • Enhancing economic development; or
  • Involving workers in decisions affecting their working lives, including improving communication with respect to subjects of mutual interest and concern.

These grants are not limited solely to providing support for occupational training and can be used to address other challenges in the workplace.

Awards ranging from $65,000 to $125,000 will be granted.
